The Dr. Adawia Alousi Fund for Muslim Women in STEM, housed at the Center for Arab American Philanthropy, remains one-of-a-kind, honoring the remarkable legacy of pioneering pharmacologist Dr. Adawia Alousi. Since its inception in 2016 with a $500,000 endowment, the Fund has awarded 164 scholarships totaling $430,000 over eight years.

CAAP is excited to announce that now in its eighth year, this transformative fund continues to empower young Muslim women to excel and innovate in STEM fields. In Fall 2024, we awarded 20 outstanding students for the 2024-25 academic year, totaling $50,000. For many of these young women, becoming an Alousi Scholar represents more than financial assistance—it’s an affirmation of their potential and a connection to a community of like-minded Muslim women committed to advancing in STEM and uplifting others along the way.

This year’s scholars truly stood out, each bringing remarkable stories of resilience and determination in overcoming personal challenges to pursue their dreams. The Alousi scholars are exceptional young women coming from across the world, breaking barriers and paving the way in STEM. With their drive and vision, we are confident they will continue to make meaningful contributions and becoming the trailblazers of tomorrow.  Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients!
