The Center for Arab American Philanthropy would like to congratulate our 2019 Adawia Alousi Scholars! Representing colleges throughout the country, the women who make up this exceptional sisterhood are increasing the visibility of Muslim females in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields.

In addition to the jobs and extracurriculars these women are already engaged in, such as teaching, volunteering at clinics, event-planning through school clubs, and spearheading public service projects, they also find time to produce scholarly work in research areas they are passionate about. Some of these research areas include schizophrenia, breast cancer, human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates, breastfeeding and women’s health, and much more. Check out each of the scholar profiles below.

This scholarship fund is named for Dr. Adawia Alousi, a scientist and educator with a multitude of passions. Established at CAAP in 2016 by the family of the late researcher, this endowed fund hopes to pay forward Dr. Alousi’s spirit of generosity.
