On March 25, the Center for Arab American Philanthropy presented the 2018 Piano Keys for Syrian Kids event, a piano concert intended to raise funds and awareness about the plight of Syrian refugees. High school students – and twin brothers – Omar and Ziad Fehmi had the idea to host a concert with their friends when they learned about the ongoing struggles of Syrian refugee children.

Now in its third year, the youth-led concert raised more than $20,000 for vulnerable Syrian children.

Proceeds from the event are directed to UNICEF USA, which has been on the ground since the conflict began, providing children with lifesaving supplies in health, water, and nutrition— as well as supporting child protection and education programs.
