Arab American organizations have historically faced challenges in securing adequate funding for civic engagement initiatives. The NNAAC Arab American Civic Engagement Fund was created with the goal of filling this crucial gap by funding Arab American organizations in their election work, census outreach, redistricting and other community organizing/base-building efforts.

Administered through the National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC), a national institution of ACCESS focused on advocacy and capacity-building, the fund has the following objectives:

  • Increase the number of Arab Americans nonprofit organizations engaging in civic engagement work
  • Create a space for peer learning for Arab American nonprofit organizations
  • Counter the historic underfunding of civic engagement efforts in Arab American communities

Grantee recipients will not only receive funds but also have an opportunity to participate in NNAAC’s biweekly Advocacy and Civic Engagement meetings, where NNAAC brings together Arab American organizations to learn from each other, share resources and receive training on relevant civic engagement and civic participation efforts. Being a recipient also includes access to campaign toolkits, Voter Activation Network (VAN) access, support around election protection, scripts for phone and text banking and much more.
