Many Arab American students face challenges achieving their higher education goals. In response to this, Basem and Muna Hishmeh established the Education Empowers Arab Americans Fund at the Center for Arab American Philanthropy. The Fund supports the Arab American Scholarship Program at William Paterson University, which provides financially needy students the funding to complete their higher education.

Your support at the upcoming Arab American Scholarship Evening at William Paterson will provide scholarships for refugees and other low-income students. And, all proceeds raised at the event will be matched 100% by the Fund at the Center for Arab American Philanthropy. We hope to see you there to make a huge difference in the lives of promising young scholars.

The Arab American Scholarship Evening will include dinner with entertainment performed by Simon Shaheen and his ensemble with Members of the William Paterson Music Department Jazz Program.

Attendees are asked to make a contribution at one of these three levels:

  • Supporter: $3,000 (Pay over 3 years $1,000 per year)
  • Patron: $5,000 (Pay over 3 years $1,750 first 2 years, $1,500 last year)
  • Benefactor: $10,000 (Pay over 3 years $3,500 first 2 years, $3,000 last year)

If you cannot attend, you may donate directly to the fund.

Thank you for supporting Arab American educational opportunities!
